WolfPack Athlete of the Week (Aug. 29, 2022):

Goalkeeper Jackson Gardner did it all for the 'Pack this past weekend, helping the team jump out to a dream start. 

The communications major from Chilliwack was perfect on opening night, making three big saves to record a shutout and help the 'Pack to a 2-0 win over the preseason favourite UBC Thunderbirds. In the dying moments of the game Gardner helped cement the win by launching a ball upfield that forced some miscommunication between the UBC defence before the ball wound up in the back of the net.

On Saturday the 6-1 goalkeeper made two more saves as the WolfPack sailed past the UVic Vikes by a score of 3-0. The back-to-back shutouts is the best start to a Canada West season in program history.

Next up for Gardner and the 'Pack is a trip to the Lower Mainland where they will take on the Trinity Western Spartans and Fraser Valley Cascades this weekend.
