Collection of Personal Information at TRU Varsity Sporting Events
Live-streaming/Video Recording/Photographing
Thompson Rivers University (TRU) collects, uses, discloses and retains personal information in compliance with the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (the FIPPA).
TRU will be live-streaming, video recording, and taking photographs at TRU WolfPack varsity sporting events for the following purposes:
- Webcasting on Canada West TV;
- Film exchange for teams in the conference;
- Capturing action shots of athletes; and
- Promotion on various TRU social media channels.
When attending our varsity events your images may be captured, used and disclosed outside Canada. Under the FIPPA, the collection of this personal information (your images) is permitted section 26(g) and is disclosed under section 33.1(1)(q).
If you do not wish your image to be captured, please let the photographer/media production representative know.
