WolfPack Awards Night

Each year the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack host the WolfPack Awards banquet, celebrating the performances and awards won in the previous season.

Here are descriptions and lists of the all-time winners for each award.

Sports Task Force Athlete of the Year
Awarded to the female and male student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding athletic performance throughout the year.  This award is solely based on athletic performance.

Director's Award
The Director’s award is presented annually to a deserving candidate that has shown great leadership and goes out of their way to contribute their time and energy to the WolfPack department, the university and the community.  They have a positive impact on those around them and are strong representatives of TRU and the WolfPack.

Cliff Neufeld Leadership Award
The Cliff Neufeld Leadership Award is given to the student-athlete who best exemplifies a combination of excellence in the classroom, in the community, and on their team.

Newcomer of the Year
The Newcomer of the Year award is given to an athlete in their first year with TRU - not necessarily a rookie in terms of eligibility, they could be a transfer student as well. These individuals have major and immediate impacts on the success of their team.

Dr. Roger H. Barnsley Scholar-Athletes of the Year
This award goes to the student athlete who best combines academics, with athletic performance.  In order to be eligible to be nominated for this award, student-athletes must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.5 this Fall.

Tyler Lowey Award
The Tyler Lowey Award is presented to a student-athlete who has shown remarkable resilience in their career. Winners of the Tyler Lowey Award have faced a great deal of adversity and continued to compete for the WolfPack, or returned to compete after overcoming a significant injury or obstacle. They have shown determination, commitment, character, and an undeniable spirit, and they represent the very best of sport.

WolfPack Appreciation Award
The WolfPack Appreciation Award is given annually to someone who has had a major impact on the department. From community members, TRU staff advocates to long-time department members, these are the people that make the WolfPack so special.
