Intramural Sports (Intramural programming will start: Tuesday, September 16, 2025)

Throughout the week, WolfPack Recreation organizes a variety of non-competitive, leisure team sports in the TRU Gym. Teams will receive a playing schedule with allocated playing times. Playing times will vary from week to week. Each sport's playing time will be about one hour. WolfPack Recreation welcomes all individuals to participate regardless of gender identity; however, all teams must have a minimum of one individual that self-identifies as Woman, Two-Spirit, Trans, Gender Non-Conforming playing on the court always.

WolfPack Recreation is all about people having fun! Anyone who is not in accordance with safe and fair play will be asked not to participate. WolfPack Recreation is Open to All. We are committed to providing an inclusive, accessible, and respectful experience for all its patrons, volunteers, and staff.

A few things to keep in mind…

  • Team rosters must meet the minimum requirements AND team fees must be paid BEFORE the sport registration deadline date.
  • Teams with free spots are encouraged to pick ‘free agents’ to maximize the playing opportunities and to make some new friends!
  • All schedules and communications for intramurals are dispersed using IM Leagues so make sure to use an email address that you check frequently.
  • Scheduling is dependent on the number of teams that register.
  • Teams must be available to play at any time during the scheduled evenings. Time requests can be submitted but are not guaranteed to be met.
  • Team fees vary dependent on the Intramural Sport. Double check the cost so your team doesn’t miss out!
Most important: Wolfpack Recreation is all about everyone having fun! Anyone not abiding by intramural sport rules will be asked to leave.

Code of Conduct & Eligibility Requirements

Intramural participants are expected to behave like the upstanding people the university believes them to be. Our leagues are based on the fair play principles of integrity, fairness, and respect. Students found to be in violation of these principles will be suspended from play.

Fighting & Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Any player who uses profane language, makes verbal threats or demeaning remarks directed at any player or Supervisor, or engages in any act of violence (including attempted violence) will be immediately ejected from the game(s) and suspended one game. The captain will also be automatically suspended for one game. All unacceptable behavior will be dealt with individually by the Recreation Coordinator and Intramural Supervisor. A meeting with the Team Captain, player(s) involved, and the Recreation Coordinator must take place before they are eligible to play again. Repeat offenders (more than once) will be ejected from the league. Future eligibility in Recreation programs is subject to approval from the Recreation Coordinator.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Intramurals are open to current TRU students. Special permission may be granted to TRU Alumni and Faculty, pending approval from WolfPack Recreation.
  • WolfPack Recreation is Open to All. We are committed to providing an inclusive, accessible, and respectful experience for all its patrons, volunteers, and staff.
  • Varsity athletes are not permitted to participate in their respective sports during the collegiate year – not just the season. Red shirts are eligible to play unless a change in playing status occurs. Players who breach this rule lose participation privileges for all TRU Recreation events.
  • Only players appearing on the team roster are eligible to play. Rosters will be locked one month after the registration deadline.
  • Teams may include one community player. A community player is defined as an individual who is not, and has never been, a student, faculty member, or alumnus of the institution. Approval from WolfPack Recreation must be requested before including a community player on the team roster. Only players appearing on the team roster are eligible to play. Rosters will be locked one month after the registration deadline.
  • Fill Ins: Teams may use fill in players from another team roster only if they are short on a given day. Walk in players are not permitted as they have not signed the Rec waiver.
