Welcome to Camp

Camper and Instructor of the Week

Each week one camper and one instructor will be chosen as camper and instructor of the week by their peers. These campers and instructors will be chosen based on their positive attitude, team spirit, willingness to participate and establishing themselves as a good role model!

Be prepared. Bring indoor and outdoor shoes and clothes. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Bring a water bottle as well as snacks and a lunch. If you are in a camp that will be in the pool, bring a towel and swimming attire. Remember that it is a NUT FREE environment.

Drop Off and Pick Up

The drop off time is between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and the pick up time is between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The drop off and pick up location is the same: at the TRU Gym.

Camper Sign In/Out

There will be regular sign ins and outs every day based out of the Gym Mezzanine. I.D. will be requested upon pick-up. For a child to sign themselves out, the office must be informed in person by the parent/guardian who dropped off the child. The camper must let the instructor know they are leaving each time.

Informed/Photo consent forms
Every camper will need an informed/photo consent filled out and brought to camps on Monday morning. There will be blank forms on the tables for parents to fill out if they didn't bring it with them.
TRU Sport Camps Anaphylaxis Action Plan

Along with the medical info, we will have an Anaphylaxis Action Plan form. This will be filled out for any child with an allergy. It will inform us of all information needed to deal with a child's allergic reaction. These forms are to be with the instructor at all times.

Info for the Campers and Parents

Please familiarize yourself with the following protocols so everyone can have a fun and safe summer! Any questions regarding protocols should be brought to the Camp supervisors.

Each camp, as well as who is instructing, will be displayed on the front of each table. Each camper must be signed in by their parent/guardian. Following sign-in, campers may go have free playtime in the gym. At 8:55 (or 12:55), all kids come up from the gym and go to their table. At that, time instructors will go over expectations for the week. Please read and familiarize yourself and the campers with them prior to the start of camp so everyone can have a smooth, fun week.

Expectations:

  • No swearing/fighting/bullying
  • Stay with your group
  • Keep your table/area where you played clean
  • Tell the instructor when you need to leave (water, bathroom)
  • Lunch and snack not over until all garbage is picked up and bags are organized - Sitting while eating, eat behind the last table
  • Don't abuse equipment
  • No phones, bottle flipping, toys stay in bags during camp hours
  • Money stays put away
  • On Friday's water guns remain empty and in bag until we arrive at the water fight area

For lunch, campers get approximately 20 minutes to eat, they must be seated while eating and behind the last table. Once all campers' garbage is properly disposed of, and their lunch kits and bags are re-organized, they are able to play in the gym. Every day there will be an organized game taking place in half the gym as well as an option for free play over the lunch hour. Each camp will also have a snack break (about 15min), for full day campers this means they will need enough food for three breaks.
