
"We looked a bit rusty." That is how Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men's hockey coach described his teams appearance as they returned from nearly a three week absence from play in the BC Inter Collegiate Hockey League.
The WolfPack rallied from a 2-0 first period deficit and downed the Trinity Western Titans 6-4 before 750 fans at Memorial Arena in Kamloops.
Jose Reyes (1st year,forward, Kamloops, BC) led the way for the WolfPack. He had three goals. Jassi Sangha (1st year, forward, Kamloops, BC), Cody Lockwood (3rd year, defenceman, Kamloops, BC) and Andrew Fisher (3rd year, forward, Kamloops,BC) had the other goals for TRU, who were tied 4-4 with Trinity after 40 minutes.
David Gore (2nd year,forward, Kamloops, BC) added two assists for TRU.
Titans' Captain Peter Masterton had two goals. Singles came off the sticks of Trevor Edwards and Josh Stephenson.
Trinity goalie JD Chapman stopped 47 shots while Thomas Gobeil (1st year, goalie,Armstrong,BC) handled 44 for TRU. "He was the difference in the game," thought Hans. The WolfPack are now 5 and 2 on the year while Trinity falls to 4 and 3.
The two teams meet again Sunday (Nov 15) at Memorial Arena. Puck drop is at noon.
