WOLFPACK HOCKEY WINS FIRST EVER GAME

Kamloops, BC--It might have only been an exhibition game but it was a historic one for the Thompson Rivers University men's hockey program. The WolfPack downed the Okangan College Crusaders 5-3 Saturday (Sept 19)night at Memorial Arena.

It was the WolfPacks first ever victory in their inaugural game. Former Kamloops Storm player Jassi Sangha (Kamloops, BC) paced the 'Pack with two goals and one assist. One of his goals was short handed. Jose Reyes (Kamloops, BC), Casey Patterson(Chase, BC) and David Gore (Kamloops, BC) had the other markers for the WolfPack. Gore's goal came into an empty net with 13 seconds left in the contest.

Blake Tancock (Chilliwack, BC) and Brock Fraser (Kamloops, BC) shared the goaltending duties for TRU. They combined to stop 23 shots. The 'Pack had 40 shots on goal.

The same two teams play again today (1 pm)at Memorial Arena and they open up their BC Inter Collegiate Hockey League season next Saturday (Sept 26) in Kamloops.
