NBA’S KELLY OLYNYK TO SPEAK AT TRU ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP BREAKFAST

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="500"]BI1E9819.JPG Kelly Olynyk (right) with Boston Celtics Uniform (photo contributed)[/caption] Kelly Olynyk of the Boston Celtics will deliver that message at the first annual TRU Athletic Scholarship Breakfast to be held Thursday, September 25th in the Grand Hall of the TRU Campus Activity Centre. Kelly Olynyk is the son of TRU Athletic Director Ken and TRU Alumni Relations Supervisor Arlene. He is sure to provide some key insight on the subject. Since graduating South Kamloops Secondary and moving to NCAA Division I basketball at Gonzaga University and then to the NBA, Kelly Olynyk has spoken many times on the influence people besides his family have had in his formative years. This Athletic Scholarship breakfast is the major fundraiser for athletic scholarships which are utilized by the 180+ student/athletes competing on the WolfPack’ s eight teams in Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) along with the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Conference and the TRU Cheer team. Event tables are designed for 10 people@ a cost of $1500 and a matching grant of up to $50,000 will be provided through The Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic and The Office of the Vice-President Administration and Finance. The amount of the table ($1500) will be matched so your gift becomes  $3000.Those who purchase a table will also receive four invitations to a special reception which features Kelly Olynyk on the Wednesday evening (Sept 24) in the Mountain Room of the Campus Activity Center. Additionally, table sponsors will receive five seasons passes (each individual at the table gets a TRU seasons pass as well), a keeper gift, a chance to ask Kelly questions, a chance to network and a tax receipt per Revenue Canada regulations ($875). Individual tickets for the scholarship breakfast are set at 100 dollars and you receive a keeper gift, a season’s pass, a tax receipt as per Revenue Canada regulations ($75) and the price of the ticket will be matched so your gift becomes $200.
