
Valentine’s Day was a special day for the Corryn Brown foursome representing Thompson Rivers University at the Western Canadian University Women’s Curling Championships.
Brown and her rink: consisting of third Erin Pincott, second Samantha Fisher, lead Ashley Nordin and fifth Sydney Fraser went through the three rink, double round robin unbeaten.

On Saturday (Feb 14), the WolfPack foursome opened up with a 12-7 victory over the University of Regina Cougars. The Cougars are being represented by Callan Hamon.
TRU scored two in the first, added three more in both the third and sixth ends and four in the ninth.

Brown and her rink closed out the round robin on Saturday afternoon against the University of Alberta Pandas represented by two time Canadian Junior Women’s champion Kelsey Rocque.

She got her second dose of revenge against Rocque beating her 7-4. The points coming with two in the second, three in the fourth and one in both the fifth and sixth.

With the title, TRU will go in as the top western seed going into the CIS Curling Championships to be held in March. It will be held in Waterloo, Ontario. This will be Brown and her rinks second time representing TRU at the CIS championships.
