Box Score The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack are going into the Christmas break on a positive note. The WolfPack swept the host University of Saskatchewan Huskies in Canada West women's volleyball on Saturday (Nov 30).

The scores in the 3-0 victory were 25-22, 25-17, 25-21.  The WolfPack move to 9-3 on the year and back into third place in the Canada West standings, leapfrogging over the Huskies who fall to  8-4.
Kendra Finch (5^th year, outside hitter, North Vancouver, BC) was the offensive kingpin for the Pack with 14 kills.   Gabriela Podloski (4^th year, outside hitter, Grande Prairie, AB) had a very strong match as she had five kills, seven service aces and three blocks.    Keseniya Kocyigit (1^st year middle, Bayrosa, Belarus) had five blocks.

Anastasiia Muzyka (3^rd year, Poltawa, Ukraine) had 26 assists while her setting partner Abby Spratt (4^th year, Calgary, AB) added seven. Hali Drezet (4^th year, libero, Prince George, BC) had 11 digs.

"We said if we want to be a contender we can't lose two matches in a row," said WolfPack head coach Chad Grimm of his seventh nationally ranked squad. " So far we have been pretty good at that. I am really proud of our group. We could have 'folded our tents". We had three or four girls who are under the weather and didn't sleep well last night. They put that aside and came out and took care of business today.  Overall, I am happy with our first half. We did well. We haven't had a match where we kind of mailed it in. We have competed . Two of our losses were pretty similar. Yesterday here, we lost the first two sets and mounted a comeback.  Overall, happy with the resilience of our squad."

Saskatchewan was led by Madi Fraser who had 12 kills and four blocks.  Emily Koshinsky had eight kills and two service aces.  Kamloops native Caet McCorkell, playing her first season in Saskatchewan after two years in PACWEST with Douglas College had three kills.   Averie Allard accumulated 20 assists and three blocks.

The WolfPack will return to regular season in the Canada West on Friday January 3^rd when they visit the Wesmen in Winnipeg. Their first home match will be Friday, January 10^th at the Tournament Capital Centre when the University of Manitoba Bisons come to town. Match time will be 6:45 PM
