Women's Volleyball look to stay unbeaten hosting Pandas

Assistant Coach Sarah Loedel
The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women's volleyball team will put their unbeaten streak on the line this week in Canada West play.
After a week off, the WolfPack (4-0) will continue their home stand as they entertain the University of Alberta Pandas (1-3).  The two teams will duke it out at the Tournament Capital Centre on Friday and Saturday (Nov 8-9).

This will be the first time the two schools have met since the WolfPack threw a scare into the Pandas: beating them in the regular season and then taking them to full three matches in the first round of the Canada West playoffs.

Thompson Rivers are one of three unbeaten teams going into Canada West play this weekend.   Mount Royal and Trinity Western are 6-0. Saskatchewan is also ahead of the Pack at 5-1.
Alberta features one of the top hitters in the league in Kory White.  White (4th year, outside hitter, Edmonton, AB) leads the Canada West in kills per set  (5.25) and she is second in the Canada West in kills  ( 84).   White is also among the all time Canada West active kills leaders at 726 entering this season. And is third all time in kills per set.  She also holds the season record for points scored in both a four set (24.5) and a five set  (31.5) match along with kills in one match (30).

Panda libero Jenae Eisler (3rd year, Edmonton, AB) is second in the league in digs per set (3.88) while setter Elyse Hart (3rd year, Bragg Creek, AB) is fourth in the Canada West in assists per set at 9.06. That is a statistic that is led by the WolfPack's  Anastasiia Muzyka (3rd year, Poltawa, Ukraine) at 10.

TRU's Kendra Finch (5th year, outside hitter, North Vancouver, BC) is third in Canada West in kills per set (4.13) while rookie middle Kseniya Kocyigit (1st year, Byaroza, Belarus) is second in hitting percentage (1.25) and fifth in blocks per set (1.25).  Kocyigit holds the season match record in attack percent (.667).

Match times will be 6:45 pm on Friday and 5 pm on Saturday.   Before the match Friday, the WolfPack and Canada West will be honoring Marty Hastings of the Kamloops This Week/CBC Radio. He will be awarded the Fred "Gus" Collins award for outstanding coverage of the Canada West.

Both of the games this weekend will be webcast on a pay-per-view basis on Canada West TV presented by Co-op by accessing: https://cw.yaretv.com/.
Results will be available on the WolfPack social media platforms and their website  www.goWolfPack.ca.
