School records were broken on Saturday (Nov 30) as the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack competed at the National cross country championships in Abbotsford, BC.
Zoe Painter (Whitehorse, YT) competed in a 10 kilometer women's race which included members of the Canadian Olympic team (Natasha Wodak and Genevieve Lalonde). Painter was in the 39-44 women's category and finished the event in a time of 31:29. That was a new school record. She finished 39 th out of 45 competitors.
Liam McGrath (Vernon, BC) competed in the senior men's 10 K event and ran it in a time of 35:02 which is a new TRU record. He wound up 82
nd out of 87 finishers.
In the U20 category,
Calum Carrigan (Kamloops, BC) ran 26:39 to wind up 44
th while Richard Midgely (Langley, BC) covered the course in a time of 27:53 which was 62
nd. The other TRU runner—
Riley Hall (Abbotsford, BC) suffered a bad fall over a hay bale and hobbled across the finish line in a time of 29:24 which was 75 th place.
