KAMLOOPS – It will be a return to Canada West play for the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's basketball team this weekend as they are set to host the Trinity Western Spartans on January 7-8.
Taking place inside the Tournament Capital Centre at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, the games will feature a 1-7 WolfPack squad doing battle with a 6-0 Spartan team that leads the West division.
In their last games before the winter break, the WolfPack split a pair of duels with the UBC Okanagan Heat inside the TCC, picking up their first win of the season in a 77-60 triumph on Friday night. The Spartans meanwhile, swept the UBC Thunderbirds in Vancouver back in early December in their last Canada West contests.
This will be the first meeting between the WolfPack and Spartans since November of 2019 when TRU swept the Spartans by scores of 70-67 and 60-50.
3 Things
1: Fans 12-and-over attending the games will be required to show proof of full vaccination.
2: Per provincial guidelines attendance will be limited to 50 per cent capacity.
3: The game on Friday night will be the WolfPack's first game action in 42 days after an extended winter break.
By the Numbers
21.4 – The WolfPack have been getting to the free-throw line at an impressive pace, taking the fourth-most free throw attempts per-game in the conference.
60.2 – TWU has the fourth-best defence in the conference.
