KAMLOOPS – The nationally-ranked UFV Cascades took care of business Saturday night, defeating the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's basketball team by a score of 86-23 in Abbotsford.
The Cascades jumped out to an early lead and never looked back on the night, dominating the boxscore with 44 rebounds and shooting over 50 per cent from the floor as a team.
Missing key players due to injury, a young WolfPack lineup that featured just one player above their second year of eligibility struggled to keep pace with the U SPORTS No. 10 Cascades.
Megan Rouault led the way for TRU with 10 points in her 25 minutes of action. Four players hit double-digits in scoring for UFV as the Cascades scored a scorching 27 points in the first quarter en route to the victory.
The WolfPack will now return to Kamloops and get set to face the UVic Vikes on January 27-28 inside the TCC. Both those games will get underway at 5:30 p.m.
