Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | TRU WolfPack

‘Pack can’t keep up with high-flying Thunderbirds

KAMLOOPS – It was all UBC all night Saturday in Kamloops as the visiting Thunderbirds picked up a 4-0 victory over the host Thompson Rivers University WolfPack in men's soccer action.

It was four different players who found the back of the net for the visitors. Brennan Fuerst, Luke Norman, Eric Kim and Sebastian Dzikowski all scored in the contest.

Olivier Jumeau made some big saves in the WolfPack net, with five stops credited to his name. Bennet McKay earned the shutout for UBC, his third of the season.

The Thunderbirds opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Markus Kaiser chipped a ball into the box into the path of Fuerst who powered the ball into the back of the net.

While UBC doubled their lead in the 50th minute of play, the game soon after turned into the Jumeau show.

In a span of two minutes the product of Carnforth, England shut down a pair of breakaways and made several spectacular diving saves to keep his team in it.

The 'Pack seemed to take momentum from Jumeau's stops and had their best chance to score just minutes later. Patrick Izett whipped a ball into the box that Jost Hausendorf rose highest to meet with his head only to see his thunderous effort bounce off the post.

UBC added two goals late in the contest to cement their victory and move them to 4-0 on the season.

Next up for Thunderbirds are a pair of games at home against the UFV Cascades and TWU Spartans. The WolfPack meanwhile, will hit the road for Prince George where they will take on the UNBC Timberwolves.
