Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | TRU WolfPack

Quick-strike Spartans down WolfPack

KAMLOOPS – The host Trinity Western Spartans struck early en route to a 4-0 victory over the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's soccer team Saturday night in Langley.

Bryana Buttar and Sierra Halldorson both scored for Trinity with Charity Field finding the back of the net twice.

Aneesa O'Brien made four saves in net for the 'Pack while Hannah Miller recorded the shutout for TWU.

Trinity Western struck early, with both Buttar and Field scoring within the first three minutes of the contest. Field added her second of the game right before halftime while Sierra Halldorson's goal in the 63rd minute wrapped up the proceedings.

Rookie Nathalie Burkett had the lone shot on goal in the game for the 'Pack, as TRU's young players continue to impress throughout the season.

The loss brings an end to TRU's four-game undefeated streak and moves them to a record of 4-5-2 where they sit just outside the Canada West postseason picture. With four games left to play the 'Pack sit three points behind both the UBC Okanagan Heat and UVic Vikes in fourth and fifth place respectively.

TRU will get the chance to make up those points next Friday when they host the Heat for Senior Night at Hillside Stadium. The 'Pack will honour Kamloops product Emily Clark in the final home game of her TRU career.
