Weekend Story
KAMLOOPS – It's a return to Canada West action in the TCC this Thursday on Halloween night for a Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's basketball team that tips off at 5:30 p.m.
In a rare home-and-away split as the 'Pack will then travel to Prince George for a game at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
This will be the first chance for fans of the WolfPack to watch their team at home as they played all six of their preseason games on the road. Their most recent action was against Walla Walla University south of the border in Walla Walla, WA.
An extremely young squad last season, the 'Pack are now another year older and feature nine second year players as well a trio of fourth years and five new first years on the roster.
One of the youngest teams in the country last year, TRU finished 15th in the Canada West conference and earned a pair of wins on the campaign. A new schedule format this season will see TRU play each school in B.C. three times and have just one crossover weekend with a squad from the Prairies.
The Heat earned an 11-9 record last season and qualified for the CW postseason as the 9th seed. They defeated the Trinity Western Spartans in a play-in game before falling to the Saskatchewan Huskies.
Like the 'Pack, UNBC missed out on the playoffs with a record of 4-16 in 2024-25.
3 Things
