KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's volleyball team hit the road but played in a home atmosphere this past weekend as they took on the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves in a pair of games in Prince George.
GAME 1:
TRU 1, NWP 3 (28-30, 25-21, 29-27, 25-14)
Facing NWP on night one with a young roster, TRU took the first set but couldn't hold off the comeback as they fell 3-1.
Britain Ward led the way offensively with 10 kills, five blocks and an ace.
Daniel Hitchens also had eight kills, six blocks and five aces.
"We struggled to find any rhythm in front of a robust crowd," said WolfPack head coach
Pat Hennelly.
GAME 2:
TRU 3, NWP 0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-17)
The 'Pack rebounded in a big way Saturday, cruising past NWP in front of over 600 loud WolfPack fans.
Rylan Ibbetson racked up 20 kills, three aces and three blocks.
Alex Howard and
Jordan Fulljames both contributed nine kills apiece.
Walker Sodaro led an efficient attack with 39 assists and two aces.
The 'Pack are back on the road this weekend as they travel to Winnipeg for a trio of exhibition games against the Winnipeg Wesmen, Manitoba Bisons and Fraser Valley Cascades.
