KAMLOOPS – After picking up back-to-back 3-0 victories to start a Canada West season for the first time in program history last weekend, the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's volleyball team are ready to hit home court for the first time in 2025-26.
Taking on the Saskatchewan Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, the games will pit two teams that made the CW playoffs last year against one another.
The WolfPack (13-7) put together one of the strongest regular season campaigns in in program history last season, being ranked in the U SPORTS Top 10 all year en route to a fifth-place finish.
Saskatchewan entered the playoffs with a record of 10-10 last year before embarking upon a postseason run that saw them knock off the TWU Spartans and UFV Cascades to qualify for the U SPORTS National Championship.
TRU was perfect to start their campaign last week, defeating the MacEwan Griffins by a score of 3-0 on back-to-back nights. The WolfPack received contributions from throughout their lineup and it was third-year outside hitters
Hail Ward and
Keira Gent that keyed the 'Pack attack.
The Huskies enter the weekend with a record of 2-2. After starting their campaign with two losses to the Alberta Pandas they earned victories of 3-0 and 3-2 over the MRU Cougars in their last action.
These teams met twice last season with TRU earning back-to-back 3-0 wins over Saskatchewan on the road in Saskatoon.

After helping the team to one of the best seasons in program history last year, outside hitter
Rida Erlalelitepe is back for another year with the WolfPack. The product of Izmir, TUR finished fourth in the conference with 258 kills and was named a Canada West first team all-star in just her first season with TRU last year.
