WolfPack curlers show improvement throughout weekend at CW Championships

KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's curling team competed on the conference stage this past weekend, taking on the top teams in Western Canada in Edmonton, AB at the Canada West Championships.
A young team that was just formed this year, the 'Pack didn't register a victory at the bonspiel but battled well throughout the weekend.

DAY 1
TRU 0 – REG 11
TRU 4 – UBCO 5

In tough against the reigning conference champion Regina Cougars, the 'Pack fell 11-0 in their first game of the weekend.
The WolfPack's second game on the first day of competition came right down to the wire. TRU and UBCO traded singles for much of the match but it the Heat claimed back-to-back singles in the sixth and seventh to take the 5-4 victory.
 
DAY 2
TRU 0 – BDN 10
TRU 2 – CGY 9
TRU 3 – ALB 9

Taking on two teams that made it to the championship match, the WolfPack fell 10-0 to Brandon, 9-2 to Calgary and then had a strong showing against eventual silver medallist Alberta Golden Bears. Trailing just 4-3 after four ends, the 'Pack couldn't keep pace with Alberta late in a 9-3 defeat.
 
DAY 3
TRU 4 – UBC 14
TRU 5 – LET 9
TRU 3 – UVic 8

The WolfPack closed out the weekend with strong showings. After falling to UBC the 'Pack were tied 5-5 with Lethbridge through four ends before the Pronghorns pulled away late. TRU finished the event with an 8-3 defeat to the UVic Vikes.
