Weekend Story
KAMLOOPS – The final home weekend of the 2025-26 Canada West season is set to hit the TCC this weekend when the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's volleyball team plays host to the Alberta Pandas.
Taking on Alberta at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, the games will pit two of the top teams in the nation against one another. The WolfPack enter the weekend ranked a program-best fourth in the U SPORTS Top 10 Poll while the Pandas, the reigning U SPORTS Bronze medallists, have been ranked first the entire season.
The WolfPack (12-4) are playing their second-straight weekend at home and their final home games of the 2025-26 regular season. Last weekend the WolfPack picked up a split with the UFV Cascades rebounding from a 3-2 defeat Friday night with a 3-1 victory on Saturday.
Maria Dancheva was named the WolfPack Athlete of the Week after compiling 14 blocks, 11 kills and a pair of aces over the weekend.
On Friday night the WolfPack will honour graduating student-athletes:
Faith Christensen,
Caitlin Larrigan,
Madison Maichin and
Addison Witkowski. Between the four of them they are 18-time U SPORTS Academic All-Canadians, have played in more than 250 regular season games with the 'Pack and will leave a lasting legacy on the entire Kamloops community.
Alberta (14-2) is coming off a pair of wins (3-1 and 3-0) over the Winnipeg Wesmen in Edmonton last weekend. The Pandas are a perfect 6-0 in the second semester.
The WolfPack will be looking to put an end to Alberta's four-game winning streak in their last four regular season head-to-head matches.
