Season Story

KAMLOOPS – One game on the road and one at home is on tap for a WolfPack women's soccer team that is off to the best start to a season in program history this coming weekend.

Taking on the TWU Spartans in Langley on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and the UFV Cascades at home inside Hillside Stadium on Sunday at 5:30 p.m., the games will pit the 'Pack against the two teams on either side of them in the Canada West Pacific Division standings.

Holding a record of 3-0-3, the WolfPack are third in the standings with 12 points through their opening six games. Just two points ahead of TRU are the Spartans who are 4-2-2 and have 14 points but have played two more games than the 'Pack. Right behind TRU in the standings are the 2-4-2 Cascades who have eight points through eight games this season.

The WolfPack have yet to play Trinity Western this season and although their all-time record against the Spartans in CW play is 2-13-1 both of those victories have come within the last three games that the two teams have played.

TRU and the Cascades have faced off twice this season with already with the two playing to a 0-0 in Abbotsford before the 'Pack picked up a 1-0 win over UFV at home just last weekend.

Three Things

1: The WolfPack's home game on Sunday will be their Soccer for Cancer game. Entry to the game will be by donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.

2: Food from Fryer's Express will be available at the game.

3: The WolfPack run of six-straight games without a loss to start a season is their best mark in the program's Canada West history.

By The Numbers

2: Allowing just two goals through their opening six games, the WolfPack are tied for second in the conference when it comes to goals-against.

3: With a .943 save percentage this season WolfPack goalkeeper Floor Ursem is third in the conference.

4: Four different players have found the back of the net for the WolfPack this season including rookie Hannah Saxon who leads the WolfPack in points with two goals and one assist.
