Season Story
KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's soccer team will be looking to make some program history this weekend when they finish out their 2026 Canada West regular season slate with a pair of games inside Hillside Stadium.
Facing the UBCO Heat (2-8-2) on Friday night and the TWU Spartans (7-3-2) on Saturday in games that both get underway at 5:00 p.m., the 'Pack will be looking to secure second place in the Pacific Division for the first time in program history and the home playoff game that comes with it.
Sitting at a record of 6-2-4, the WolfPack are third in the ultra-competitive Pacific Division with 22 points. Having already clinched a playoff spot for the third time in program history, the 'Pack will be looking for a pair of wins to jump over the Spartans for second place.
First up for the WolfPack is a UBCO squad that is heating up towards the end of the season. After starting the year 0-6-2, the Heat are 2-2 in their last four games. The two teams met earlier this season with the WolfPack picking up a 2-1 victory in Kelowna thanks to goals from Sara Kuusimaki and
Hannah Saxon.
The battle for second place will come down to Saturday night when the WolfPack take on the Spartans. The two teams have met twice already this season in Langley with TRU earning a 1-0 win on Oct. 3 and TWU returning the favour with a 1-0 win on Oct. 17.
The WolfPack did something no team had done in 44 games last weekend when a
Joss Olcen wonder-strike and an outstanding defensive effort saw TRU earn a 1-1 tie with UBC, breaking the T-Birds 44-game conference winning streak. The 'Pack then did their best to follow that up a day later against the Spartans in Langley, but fell 1-0 after going down to 10 players late in the game.
UBCO comes into the weekend after a pair of losses as they fell 5-0 to TWU and 1-0 to UVic in their last action.
TWU is on a two-game winning streak after that 5-0 win over UBCO and their 1-0 victory over TRU.
