Season Story

KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's soccer team will be back on home soil this coming weekend as they are set to welcome a team at the top of the division standings and one at the bottom to Hillside Stadium.

Facing the UBC Thunderbirds (10-0-0) on Friday night and the UNBC Timberwolves (0-8-0) on Saturday in games that both get underway at 5:00 p.m., the 'Pack will be looking to continue the best start to a CW season in program history.

Sitting at a record of 5-0-3, the WolfPack are second in the ultra-competitive Pacific Division with 18 points through their opening eight games. Undefeated so far this season, the WolfPack are eyeing a return to the CW postseason for the first time since 2022 campaign when they made it all the way to conference bronze medal match. The WolfPack went a perfect 2-0 in their last action. They first defeated the then U SPORTS No. 10 ranked TWU Spartans 1-0 in Langley before following that up with a 2-0 victory over UFV.

First up for the WolfPack is a T-Birds squad that is on an historical run. Perfect at 10-0 so far this season, UBC was won 42-straight Canada West games and have kept a shutout in their last 25 games in a row. UBC earned victories of 1-0 and 6-0 over UVic and UNBC respectively last weekend.

Next up for TRU on Saturday is a UNBC team that is searching for their first win of the season. The team's met earlier this season in the first game of the season with Hannah Saxon scoring the lone goal in TRU's 1-0 victory. The Timberwolves fell 5-0 to UFV and 6-0 to UBC last weekend.

Three Things

1: The game on Friday will be a double-header of exciting events. It will be Puppies & Pints night with dogs allowed inside Hillside Stadium. There will be a halftime race with prizing donated by Petland as well as booths from Kamloops RuffStart and TRU Veterinary Technology.

2: Food from Fryer's Express will be available at the games with a beer garden set up inside the stadium.

3: The WolfPack's run of eight-straight games without a loss to start a season is their best mark in the program's Canada West history.

By The Numbers

2: Allowing just two goals through their opening eight games, the WolfPack are tied for second in the conference when it comes to goals-against. The only team that has conceded fewer goals are the Thunderbirds.

10: With two more shutouts this past weekend, WolfPack goalkeeper Floor Ursem now has 10 in her WolfPack career, three more than any other player in the program's Canada West history.
