Season Story

KAMLOOPS – After three-straight weekends (two on the road and one bye) to start their season without a game at home, the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's soccer team will finally get the chance to play inside Hillside Stadium this coming weekend.

Taking on the UVic Vikes on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and the UFV Cascades on Saturday at 5:30 p.m., the games will pit the 'Pack against their two most recent opponents. In their last action two weekends ago, TRU earned identical 0-0 ties against UVic and UFV on the road.

TRU is one of just two teams that remain undefeated in the Pacific Division of Canada West soccer, holding a record of 2-0-2 entering the weekend. The WolfPack find themselves third in the conference with eight points through four games and hold two games in hand on second place Trinity Western. Ahead for the WolfPack are a pair of teams that will be trying to track them down in the ultra-competitive Canada West standings. Fraser Valley is tied with the TRU on eight points with a record of 2-2-2. UVic will be looking for their first victory of the season and hold a record of 0-3-1.

Three Things

1: WolfPack soccer games are free entry for all TRU students as well as Soccerquest Kamloops and KUFC members.

2: Food from Fryer's Express and drinks from Sip Soda as well as a beer garden will all be available at the game.

3: Friday night there will also be 50 free posters signed by the entire team up for grabs, a bouncy castle on the grounds and local quartet Slow No Tempo will sing the national anthem.

By The Numbers

3: Three different members of the 'Pack have found the back of the net this season with Hannah Saxon, Esi Lufo and Sara Kuusimaki all scoring so far.

8: WolfPack goalie Floor Ursem is chasing history this weekend. Already with three shutouts so far this season, the second-year product of Uitgeest, NED, is tied with Danielle Robertson for the most shutouts in the program's Canada West history and just one away from claiming the record for herself.

360: Rookie, and Kamloops local, Allison Hill has played in all 360 minutes of WolfPack action so far this season.
