2019-20 will mark the 12th season for the Cheerleading Program here at Thompson River's University. The program has two teams, a Competitive Team competing at Collegiate Level 4, and a Spirit Squad competing at Open Level 4.2. Each team is very involved in the community volunteering at events, as well as supporting Varsity Athletics throughout the season. In 2016-2017, the Competitive Team had their most successful season yet, coming first at every competition aside from Nationals, which were just out of their grasp by .75 on the scoresheet. The Competitive Team practices upwards to 5 times a week, and the Spirit Squad 4 times. Both teams can be seen practicing at the Kamloops Gymnastics Trampoline Centre.
In 2018-19, the teams had a very successful competitive season. Team Black won a "Full Bid" to an international competition in Orlando, Florida in January 2020. Team Orange got an "At Large BId" for the same event. Both are fundraising to appear at that event.
The 2018-19 season also saw both teams win their respective divisions at an event in Richmond.
