2019-20
Burkart started all 14 league matches she dressed for last season, notching four shots—three on goal. She committed to the WolfPack in March 2018. She came to the team from the Nelson Selects and LV Rogers Bombers. She also spent five years at the Whitecaps Kootenay Academy. Burkarthelped her high school team to a gold medal (2016) and bronze medal (2017) at the BC “AA” championships. As well as her rep team to a gold medal (2016) and bronze medal (2017) at the BC Provincial “B” Cup. Her greatest sports moment came at age 5 when she was chosen to cut the ribbon to the new Nelson and District Community Centre along with former hockey player Ted Hargreaves in 2005. Her favourite community event was the Pride Parade because it felt good to show support for such an important community. Her fondest sports moment was having her father coach her in rep soccer and able to share success along with his commitment and enthusiasm Julia competed Grade 6 Canadian Conservatory Piano. Her advice to new players is ‘don’t be scared’.
