Biography

2019-20


Mendonca was a finalist for the Dr. Roger H. Barnsley Scholar/Athlete of the year in 2018-19 after being a finalist Sports Task Force female athlete the year previous. She started in all 14 league matches last season and scored twice having 16 shots (11 on goal). Mendonca is one of three fifth year players on the WolfPack. In 2017-18, she led the team in scoring with five goals. Her parents have been her biggest influence as they have been beside her as a coach or manager growing up. They have attended almost every home match she has played. Mendonca’s passion besides soccer is working out. She loves watermelon and ice cream. The last series she ‘binged watched’ was Friends (her favourite TV show). Marisa’s favourite community event is the Terry Fox runs in elementary schools because she gets to interact with youngsters. Her greatest sports moment as a member of the WolfPack came in her second year when she scored against UBCO in Kelowna. Her advice to incoming athletes, “Be ready to work hard.”
