The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack will not go into the 2012 Canada West Christmas Break .500. The WolfPack saw their record fall to 4 and 7 with one match to play after they were beaten 3-1 by the visiting University of Regina Cougars Friday (Nov 30) at the Tournament Capital Centre. The scores were 25-22,25-18,25-27,25-20.
The Cougars are now 2 and 9.
“It was disappointing,” said WolfPack head coach Pat Hennelly. “ I thought Regina played very well in the fourth set and pretty well overall. They came out with a solid start. We didn’t establish anything as far as the serve and pass perspective went. We had a short week last week which meant we had more time to prepare for this weekend than Regina. We should have been the team which was pressuring but it didn’t look like that.
Regina had three players in double figures for kills. Andrew Nelson (2
nd year, right side, Regina, SK) had 12 kills in 41 chances with two digs and a solo block. Joel Legasse (4
th year, outside hitter, Regina, SK had 11 kills in 27 opportunities with three service aces, 12 digs and three block assists while Rhodri Simmonds (2
nd year, outside hitter, Perth Australia) had 10 kills in 19 chances with three digs and five block assists.
Caleb Eschbach (4
th year, setter, Dryden, ON) had a game high 34 assists.

“ We played a pretty solid game tonight,” said Regina head coach Greg Barthel. “We kept our errors to a minimum. We played a pretty good team game and got good performances out of Rodri-our middle. I thought we came up with some timely digs.”
