
The Corryn Brown Foursome, representing Thompson Rivers University has a record of 1 and 2 after three draws of the 2014 CIS Women’s Curling Championships which are being hosted by the University of Regina.

Brown and her rink: consisting of Ashley Nordin, Samantha Fisher and Erin Pincott opened play on Thursday (Mar 19) with a 6-5 win over the University of Toronto Blues skipped by Nicole Seto.

That was followed by a 6-5 defeat at the hands of defending World junior women’s curling champion Kelsey Rocque, representing the University of Alberta.
In Friday (Mar 20) morning’s draw, Brown lost 7-6 to Jamie Sinclair and the Carleton University Ravens.
TRU counted one in the second, fifth and sixth ends, two in the seventh and one in the eighth ends.

Statistically after three rounds, Nordin is tied for second among leads with a 78 per cent average, Fisher is third among seconds at 71 per cent, Pincott is fourth among thirds at 66 per cent. Among skips, Brown is sixth curling 60 per cent.
The WolfPack’s next three matches are against: UPEI, Regina and Wilfred Laurier.
Alberta is unbeaten after three draws. Laurier, Toronto and Carleton are 2 and 1. New Brunswick, Regina and TRU are 1 and 2 with UPEI winless in three starts.
The winner of this event goes to the 2015 FISU Winter Games.
The Brown foursome is endorsed by the TRU WolfPack Athletics department but are not a varsity team.
