
The Corryn Brown foursome can lay claim to doing something that only one other Thompson Rivers University WolfPack team has ever done. That is medal at a CIS championships.

Brown and her rink of lead Ashley Nordin, second Samantha Fisher and third Erin Pincott captured silver at the 2015 CIS Curling Nationals in Waterloo, Ontario on Saturday (Mar 21).
They join the 2007-08 WolfPack men’s volleyball team as the only Thompson Rivers squads to win a medal in CIS championships. The volleyball team captured bronze that year.

After going through the round robin unbeaten and hammering U.P.E.I in their semi final, TRU wound up playing two time Canadian Junior women’s champion Kelsey Rocque . She was representing the University of Alberta Pandas.
In the final, TRU jumped out to a lead but wound up losing 7-6 in nine ends.

TRU was down 1-0 after the second end but tied in up in the third. Moving to the sixth, Alberta countered with a deuce to move ahead 3-1. The ‘Pack added a single in the seventh to pull to within one. But Alberta added two in the eighth to move ahead 5-2.
Brown and her rink added two of their own in the ninth to move to 5-4 but Alberta added one in the 10 th for the victory.
Wilfred Laurier won the bronze medal taking UPEI 8-3 in that game.

Three members of the TRU rink were named CIS second team All-Canadians: Brown, Nordin and Fisher.
Nordin curled 78 per cent. Fisher 74 per cent while Brown curled 72 per cent.
