Conlan Sprickerhoff (Williams Lake, BC) ran a personal best in the 10 kilometer event in 34 minutes and 22 seconds. He wound up second. Tony Kirprop (Eldoret, Kenya) ran a solid raced and finished third in a time of 35:12. Said Coach Carmin Mazzotta: “ Conlan’s finish sets him up for a great upcoming cross country season. With Tony, Brennan Smith (Victoria, BC) and Conlan taking their game to a different level in 2016, and new comers Andrew Paul-Morris (South Surrey, BC) and Kurt Behnsen (Merritt, BC) running strong, even without mentioning some of our strong potential recruits, our guys side will be able to compete at the CIS level this fall. I am really pleased with the progress we’ve made.” On the women’s side, Rachel Lobay (Kelowna, BC) finished second overall in a time of 39:36. She was outkicked at the end. “Rachel has only been training intermittently this spring,” Mazzotta stated. “Given how busy her course load has been, anything under 40 minutes is amazing right now. Rachel will come into the fall cross country season likely as strong as she left off in the fall which will be great for the team.” Christa Miller (Vernon, BC) ran a personal best in 43:48. TRU runners Alison Burnett (Quadra Island, BC) and Nicole Vermey (Kamloops, BC) also competed and ran well. Mazzotta added: “Boogie the Bridge is an amazing community event and we’ll continue to support it by bringing our athletes to compete and take part.
