It was a physical game for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women's basketball team Saturday (Oct 5) at an exhibition tournament being held in Ottawa, Ontario.
The Pack fell 75-47 to the University of Quebec at Montreal.
Thompson Rivers trailed by four (15-11) after the first period and were down 41-30 at the half. The second half saw the WolfPack outscored 34-17.
"We played well in the first part and the middle of the third quarter," said TRU head coach
Goran Nogic. " We had to play without
Megan Rouault (3rd year, Vernon, BC) after she injured her shoulder. As a result both
Emma Piggin (5
th year, guard, Kamloops, BC) and
Jordin Wilkinson (4
th year, guard, North Battleford, SK) were extremely tired."
Piggin led the way offensively with 12 point while Wilkinson added 11.
Brooklyn Golt (2
nd year, center, Langley, BC) led the way rebounding wise with 10 including eight on the defensive glass.
Thompson Rivers winds up the tournament Sunday morning (Oct 6) against the host Carleton Ravens.
