The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack outscored their opposition in the second half but fell short in exhibition men's basketball Wednesday afternoon (Dec 18).
Playing the host Vanguard University Lions (NAIA), the WolfPack fell 71-63 for their second straight defeat. In this game, the WolfPack trailed 34-25 at the half but outscored the Lions 38-37 in the second half.
TRU scored 30 points in the paint compared to 26 for Vanguard and they only turned over the ball 18 times compared to 21 for the home team.
The Vanguard bench outscored the WolfPack reserves 28-22.
Thompson Rivers was led by
Anton Bilous (5
th year, guard, Cerkassy, Ukraine) with 17 points. Micheal Rouault (5
th year, guard, Vernon, BC), Tyus DeVries (3
rd year, guard, Chilliwack, BC) and
Brendan Sullivan (2
nd year, guard, Mill Bay, BC) each had 10 points.
Rouault had three rebounds and two steals in the contest.
Richard Mageto (2
nd year, guard, Surrey, BC) had six points and four rebounds while Rojhe Colbert (3
rd year, forward, Phoenix, AZ) had four points, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Vanguard was led by Isiah Gentry with 15 points and seven rebounds.

Scott Clark stated afterwards, " We played much better today and can build off this. Vanguard is always a quality opponent."
Thompson Rivers now will go on a Christmas break. They return to Canada West play on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Tournament Capital Centre as they entertain the Mount Royal Cougars . Tip off is 5 pm at the TCC. It is "B100 night".
