JAREN PORTER

“I definitely like to shoot and I think I have a pretty good post game for a guard, with my dad being a post he taught me a lot of his game throughout my high school career.”

“I wasn’t 100 per cent sure that I was ever going to make it to the WolfPack. I always thought it would be cool to play at the same school as my Dad but I didn’t know if it was where I would end up. Playing for the WolfPack was always a goal that I was aiming for. I am definitely excited to be joining the WolfPack. As soon as I got the opportunity to join the team there was no doubt that this is what I wanted to do.”

Noah is a very hard working and driven young man who is willing to do what it takes to help continue to build the success of our program.”

“Adding Noah to our program not only helps us on the court, but he will be a great addition to our locker room and our community by bringing passion, a positive mindset, and representing the WolfPack the right way, every day.”

NOAH WATTERS

“I knew that TRU was home, after getting to meet and play with the team. I saw the competitive nature and team culture Coach Jacobson and the players have built, and I knew that was something I wanted to be a part of and where I see myself thriving. Apart from Basketball I am looking to establish my own media business and TRU has the resources to support me along that journey."

“Early on in my basketball career I had to overcome several injuries, and my first full basketball season wasn’t until my grade 10 year. So overcoming obstacles was a huge piece in my journey. Grade 11 is when it all came together, I started to play at a high level and finally see the work I put in pay off."

"Playing close to home is special as my family and friends will be able to watch and support me as I continue my basketball career."

Carson Hedges

“We are thrilled to announced that Carson Hedges will be joining the WolfPack men’s basketball program for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Carson is a high character individual who possesses a strong work ethic and the willingness to put in the work to reach his full potential as an athlete. He is a physical forward who adds size, skill, and a good touch around the basket to our team. Having competed for the past two years at the prep level, Carson understands what it takes to play and compete against high level players.”

“Adding Carson to our program not only is an addition on the court, but he will be a great fit in our locker room and help to continue to build and strengthen our team’s culture. He is a very strong student who will represent our program the right way both in the classroom and in our community.”

CARSON HEDGES

"I committed to the TRU WolfPack in mid-April 2026 after Coach Jacobson brought me to Kamloops to visit the campus. From that moment, I knew very quickly that TRU would be my home. Having the opportunity to meet my future teammates and coaches, along with exploring the city and campus, really solidified my decision."

"I started playing basketball at a high level much later than many people I’ve played with or against. My competitive journey began at age 14 in 2022 when I tried out for Rise in Calgary; before that, I had only played community basketball. Rise played a massive role in my early development and helped me prepare for the high school level. Eventually, my play with Rise and my high school team caught the attention of the coaches at CTA West, which is where I spent my grade 12 and gap year. I truly believe that without all of my coaches at CTA West, I would not be in the position I am today. All the morning practices and long days paid off. I will forever be grateful to the mentors I looked up to along the way. That being said, the road doesn't stop here."

"Playing for TRU was always a top option during my recruitment. I wanted the experience of living away from home for the first time, and Kamloops seems like an amazing place to live. On top of that, everyone was extremely welcoming during my visit. Coach Jacobson is clearly working with a great group of players and an incredible staff. I can’t wait to get started!"
