The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women's soccer team is unbeaten after two official exhibition matches.
The WolfPack were in Penticton on Sunday (Aug 18) where they took on the Penticton Pinnacles U-18 squad.
With two goals from Canada West rookie all-star
Chantal Gammie (2
nd year, Smithers, BC), the WolfPack won 4-2.
Madison Tisdale (1
st year, Chilliwack, BC) and
Robin Price (4
th year, Smithers, BC) were the other goal scorers.
Thompson Rivers utilized all three of their keepers,
Danielle Robertson (3
rd year, Courtenay, BC), Melissa Young (2
nd year, Calgary, AB) and Mae Hobenschied (1
st year, Port Coquitlam,BC).
Says TRU head coach
Mark Pennington, " IT was a great opportunity to get everyone good minutes and continue growing as a team. We have made some positive steps and the group has been working hard. This weekend was a bit of an opportunity to recharge as we get back at it next week and head out to Regina on Wednesday."
The Pack will head to Regina, Saskatchewan later this week for three preseason tilts beginning Thursday (Aug 22) against the University of Regina Cougars. Thompson Rivers will also play the University of Saskatchewan Huskies and the University of Winnipeg Wesmen.
