With wins on their mind, the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women's soccer team will head to the province of Manitoba to take on a pair of opponents in Canada West regular season action this weekend.
The WolfPack will take on the University of Manitoba Bisons on Friday night (Sept 20) and then battle the University of Winnipeg Wesmen on Saturday (Sept 21).
Friday's match vs Manitoba has been moved inside to the "Subway Soccer South" complex due to the threat of lightning strikes.
Thompson Rivers is winless in four starts after a tie and three defeats. They sit in eighth spot in the Pacific Division.
DETAILS:
The WolfPack are coming off a home opening weekend where they were shutout twice: 4-0 by MacEwan and 1-0 at the hands of the Alberta Pandas.
Manitoba and Winnipeg are both coming off losses last weekend as well. They lost back to back games against Fraser Valley and Trinity Western on the BC Lower Mainland.
On August 24
th, the Pack beat Winnipeg 4-1 at an exhibition tournament in Regina,Saskatchewan. TRU rallied from a 1-0 deficit getting goals from

RECORDS OF NOTE:
MANITOBA: has a 1-3 and are fifth in the Prairie Division. The Bisons finished 6-5-3 last year and were 4-7-3 in 2017-18
WINNIPEG: currently sit last in the Prairie Division with a record of 0-4. They were 0-10-4 last year and were 1-9-4 in 2017-18.
TRU: was 3-9-2 last season and rated 14
th in the Canada West coaches' preseason poll.
WHAT HAPPENED HISTORICALLY BETWEEN THE PACK AND THESE TEAMS:
The WolfPack have had limited exposure against these two squads. The last time TRU went to the province of Manitoba was the 2015-16 season when they opened up against the Bisons and then Winnipeg. That year, they fell 4-0 to Manitoba and beat Winnipeg 3-1.
Last season, both the Bisons and Wesmen made the trip West to Hillside Stadium. Manitoba beat TRU 1-0 while the Pack took Winnipeg 6-1. Gammie had a hat trick with Curts added another goal.

Next home matches for the WolfPack will be September 28 th and 29 th when the University of Calgary Dinos and the University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves will make a visit to the Warner Rentals Court at Hillside Stadium. Both those matches have noon kick offs.
