The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women's soccer team's scoring drought continued on Friday night (Sept 20) in Winnipeg.
Playing inside because of a thunderstorm warning, the WolfPack dropped a 4-0 decision to the University of Manitoba Bisons. The two sides were playing at the Subway Soccer Centre.
SYNOPSIS
The WolfPack found themselves down 2-0 at the half and despite some good chances, two by
Shae Fuoco (3
rd year, forward, Kamloops, BC) and one by
Taylor Miller (5
th year, midfield, Kamloops, BC) in the second half, they were unable to score for the third straight match.
TRU is winless in five starts.
This was Manitoba's second ever Canada West indoor match at home. Ironically, the last one was also against TRU and it was a 4-0 Bisons victory. It happened in 2015-16.

COMMENTS BY COACH MARK PENNINGTON:
"A poor the performance on the day. Not indicative of who we are as a group or the direction of where we want to go. From that perspective, Not impressive day all around. We need to be better across the park. We need to have more grit. We need to have more fight and quality around the net. Its another game that we were shutout. We spent a bit of time around the goal in training this week. Unfortunately, we haven't managed to put the ball in the net again. It is something that we will revisit with a match around the corner. We have to keep reminding ourselves that this is a process. We will look to move in the right direction. Unfortunately, days like today aren't the standard that I am trying take this program and where this program wants to go. The building blocks we are trying to use to stay positive are tough on days like today. We will regroup and do our best to get a result tomorrow. "
