The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men's basketball team brought a little extra 'carry on' when they boarded their flight to Brandon, Manitoba this weekend . The something extra were brooms.
They need it as they 'swept' the hometown Brandon Bobcats in Canada West play. On Saturday (Jan 18), the WolfPack won their fifth in a row as they took the Bobcats 73-67.
The WolfPack are now 11-3 while Brandon fell to 1-13.
Brandon led the contest 23-19 after the first quarter but the WolfPack outgunned them 19-9 in the second period to hold a 38-32 advantage at the half.
Joe Davis (5
th year, forward, Kamloops, BC) had 21 points, seven rebounds (five defensively), two steals and an assist to lead the Thompson Rivers offense. Micheal Rouault (5
th year, guard, Vernon, BC )had 14 points, nine rebounds (eight on the defensive glass), two assists, two blocks and a steal.
Anton Bilous (5
th year, guard, Cerkassy, Ukraine) had 12 points, six defensive rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Brendan Sullivan (2
nd year,guard, Mill Bay, BC) and
Rojhae Colbert (3
rd year, forward, Phoenix, AZ) each had nine points a piece.
Brandon's Anthony Tsegakele (1
st year, forward, Gatineau, QC) scored 20 a team high 20 points adding 13 rebounds, a steal and three assists. Haashim Wallace (3
rd year, guard, Vineland, NJ) had 15 points with three rebounds and two steals. Jaleel Webb (5
th year, guard, Montreal, QC) also had 15 points with 10 rebounds (seven defensively), two assists and two steals.
SYNOPSIS
The Bobcats had 32 points in the paint compared to 30 for Thompson Rivers. The WolfPack bench outscored Brandon's 14-7.
Brandon had 25 points off turnovers while TRU had 14.

The WolfPack will move into Victoria next weekend to take on the U Vic Vikes on January 24-25
th before returning home for their final regular season contests at the Tournament Capital Centre.
TRU will entertain the Fraser Valley Cascades on Friday, January 31
st and Saturday, February 1
st. Friday's contest will be "Donor Night" while the February 1
st will see the WolfPack basketball teams honor their fifth year players.

Anton Bilous (Cerkassy, Ukraine) and Kyrin Chebenko (Saskatoon, SK) will be honored before the contest.
That weekend is also "Basketball alumni weekend" where there will be special events honoring alum of the Cariboo College Chiefs, University College of the Cariboo Sun Demons and the WolfPack.
