KAMLOOPS – A close game at the half was blown wide open in the final 20 minutes of play, as the visiting UBC Okanagan Heat took down the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's basketball team by a score of 87 to 68.
Surprise Munie was a major part of the second half control from the Heat. The first year from Vancouver scored 13 of her 21 points on the night in the latter half of the game on 8-12 shooting from the floor. Kelsey Falk, Jaeli Ibbetson and Abby Smith rounded out the major Heat scorers with 16, 13 and 12 points respectively.
For The WolfPack a trio of players tied to lead the team in scoring.

The tale of the game came on the glass. A more experienced Heat squad out-rebounded the young WolfPack by a tally of 59-38 and scored 25 second chance points on the night.
A back and forth start to the game saw both teams lead by as many as six in the first quarter. Smith poured in eight points for the Heat but the 'Pack had seven players score and shot 41 per cent as a team en route to a 20-18 lead.
The Heat took back the lead early in the second quarter and never looked back. The visitors outscored The WolfPack 69 to 48 the rest of the night to pick up their first victory of the year.
The result between the two Interior rivals also saw the Kelowna school take a one-game lead in the annual President's Cup standings after the two schools recorded a pair of ties earlier in the year in soccer.
The Canada West season will continue next weekend. For the WolfPack it's a trip to Prince George, B.C. where they will face the UNBC Timberwolves. The Heat meanwhile, will remain on the road for a pair of games against the UVic Vikes in Victoria.
