Weekend Story
 
KAMLOOPS – Looking to head into the winter break on a positive swing, the Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's basketball team are primed to host the MacEwan Griffins inside the TCC this weekend.
 
Tipping off at 7:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, TRU (1-5) and MacEwan (0-8) the games will be the final Canada West action for both teams in 2022.
 
TRU earned their first win of the season last weekend out on the road in Lethbridge. TRU got 22 points from Denys Bachurin and 16 from rookie Cyrus Harrison in a 78-74 win over the Pronghorns Saturday night.
 
MacEwan will be trying to snap 41 game Canada West winless streak this weekend. The Griffins came tantalizingly close to breaking that skid last weekend but surrendered a 17-2 run to the Winnipeg Wesmen over the final two-and-a-half minutes of play to fall 87-80.
 
These teams met in the preseason with TRU earning an 83-76 victory in Vancouver over the Griffins.
