KAMLOOPS – For the second night in a row it was all Huskies as the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's basketball team fell to the Saskatchewan Huskies by a score of 84-31 in Saskatoon.
The WolfPack kept things close through the opening stages of the game. Five points from
Priyanca Sundher and a
Makeba Taylor layup tied the contest at 10-10 with five minutes left in the opening frame, but from there on out it was all Huskies. Saskatchewan ended the first frame on a 16-2 run and wouldn't look back for the rest of the night.
Fifth-year wing
Megan Rouault led the way for TRU with eight points in the game.
Elana Sireni chipped in with seven while
Nya Derkach and Taylor both ended the game with four rebounds.
Gage Grassick had a game-high 20 points for Saskatchewan with Kyla Shand and Logan Reider adding 18 and 12 respectively.
TRU will head back to Kamloops with a record of 1-9 on the year. They'll look to get things back on track when they host the UBC Thunderbirds on Shoot for the Cure night inside the TCC at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, January 13.
