Weekend Story
 
KAMLOOPS – Three months after playing their first preseason game of the 2023-24 season the Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's basketball team will finally get the chance to do it for real this weekend.
 
Hosting the TWU Spartans at 7:30 p.m. inside the TCC both Friday and Saturday, the games will be the season openers for a WolfPack team has a new face at the helm for the first time in 13 years as Chad Jacobson makes his TRU coaching debut.  

A busy preseason schedule that started with a game back on August 3 against the NCAA Division 1 Boise State Broncos inside the TCC saw the 'Pack go 4-2 against U SPORTS competition.

For the second season in a row the WolfPack didn't lose any players to graduation and returns a deep core that has spent plenty of time playing together. The WolfPack were picked 13th in the CW Coaches Poll, right on the edge of the postseason picture.
 
TWU finished their preseason slate with a record of 4-1 against U SPORTS teams and were picked to finish 7th by conference's coaches.
 
While the Spartans hold the historical edge between the two programs, TRU was won two of the last three matches the teams have played in Kamloops.

1: There will be hot food and a beer garden served up inside the TCC all season long.
 
2: It's a veteran WolfPack lineup this season with nine players in their third year of eligibility or higher.
 
3: All high school student-athletes in Kamloops and Merritt have a High School All-Access Pass that allows them free entry to every WolfPack game this season.
