QUICK FIRE

They led for nearly the entire night but the Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's basketball team just couldn't close out the game in an 85-84 loss to the Brandon Bobcats Saturday, Nov. 11.

LEADERS

For the second night in a row Denys Bachurin led the way offensively as he finished with 17 points. Both Daniel Bost and Thomas Olsen went 7-11 from the floor en route to 15 points while Olsen also collected 13 rebounds for the double-double.
Elisha Ampofo had 32 to lead Brandon including going 5-6 from long range.
The WolfPack dominated the glass with 46 rebounds to Brandon's 34 but made just three pointers while the Bobcats knocked down 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED

TRU jumped out to an early 12-2 lead and carried the lead all the way to just 28 seconds remaining in the contest when Ampofo knocked down a pair of free throws to make the score 72-71 in favour of Brandon.
Jason Okoro went back the other way and made a free throw of his own before the 'Pack defence came up with a big stop to send the game into overtime.
The teams traded buckets throughout the extra frame and a massive three-pointer from Bost gave TRU an 82-81 lead with 25 seconds left to play.
The teams would then trade free throws before Brandon got the ball with five seconds left to play and were able to convert to steal the victory.

NOTABLE

TRU is now 7-11 against Brandon in CW play.
The 'Pack are 1-3 on the season.
The 15 points for Olsen were the most he's scored in CW play since 2021 while his 13 rebounds were a career-high.
