Weekend Story
KAMLOOPS – Fans of the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women's soccer team will have one last chance to watch them at home this regular season when the 'Pack host the UBCO Heat at Hillside Stadium Friday night.
Taking on UBCO (5-5-1) at 7:00 p.m., the WolfPack (4-5-2) will be looking to leapfrog their Interior rivals for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Pacific Division of Canada West soccer. With just three games left on their schedule, every point matters as the 'Pack battle to make the postseason for the third time in program history.
It was a historic weekend on the road last time out for TRU. The WolfPack picked up a 2-2 tie with the UFV Cascades on Friday before earning the first win in program history over the TWU Spartans by a tally of 1-0 on Saturday.
Juli La Rotta fired in the winner for TRU as they defeated a Trinity Western team that won last year's Canada West championship and finished second in the nation at the U SPORTS National Championship.
UBCO took on those very same Spartans and Cascades last weekend, falling 2-1 to Trinity Western and defeating UFV by a tally of 2-1.
These teams played each other in the first game of the season with the Heat securing a 2-0 victory in Kelowna
