Weekend Story
KAMLOOPS – Riding high after starting their Canada West campaign with five-straight wins, the Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's basketball team is poised to play their first games of the season inside the TCC this weekend.
Taking on the TWU Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, the WolfPack enter the weekend as the lone undefeated team left in Canada West and one of just three teams in the nation that has yet to suffer defeat.
The WolfPack (5-0) travelled to Edmonton and defeated the MacEwan Griffins twice in their last action. A lockdown defensive effort on Friday saw TRU sail away from GMU for the 69-47 win. On Saturday
Jayden Stephens knocked down a shot with just ten second remaining in the contest as the WolfPack picked up the 65-64 win.
TWU (2-4) split a pair of games on the road in Prince George. After falling 75-65 Friday night to UNBC Jack Vandenburg hit a buzzer-beater three-pointer to give TWU the 65-64 win.
These teams met three times last season with TWU taking all three games.
