Weekend Story
It's set to be a monumental match up in the TCC this weekend as the Thompson Rivers University men's basketball team is back in action on home court.
Taking on the UVic Vikes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, the games will feature two teams ranked in the nation's top ten. The lone undefeated team remaining in the Canada West conference, TRU entered the U SPORTS Top 10 at No. 10 this week, earning a top ten ranking for the first time since 2016. UVic, the reigning national champions, enter the weekend ranked No. 3 in Canada.
The WolfPack (7-0) remained perfect in conference play last weekend as they picked up wins of 70-51 and 81-66 over the TWU Spartans.
Jayden Stephens was the leading scorer Friday with 22 points while rookie
Cason Scott set the program rookie record with 28 points on Saturday.
UVic (5-2) split their last weekend. The Vikes dominated Regina in a 101-53 win Friday before falling by a score of 81-76 on Saturday.
Victoria won all three games that the teams played last season.
