DIFFERENCE MAKERS
  • Graduating guard Danijela Kovacevic was the story of the night offensively for TRU, tallying nearly half of her squad's points with 18. Kovacevic stuffed the stat sheet with a further seven steals and four assists. Morgan Eichenberger continued her outstanding rookie campaign with eight points and 12 rebounds. Kate De La Mare added 12 rebounds in her 23 minutes of action.
  • It was a balanced scoring attack for Victoria as Jade Dittmer, Natalie Allison and Abigail Becker all scored nine points. Becker also snagged 13 rebounds for the double-double.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • TRU came out firing to start the match. Kovacevic scored eight of the game's first 11 points as TRU jumped out to a 10-1 lead just four minutes into the contest. The 'Pack were able to hang onto the lead heading into the second quarter as Jaya Saroya knocked down a late jumper to give TRU a 15-7 edge through ten minutes of play.
  • UVic hit back in the second quarter, outscoring TRU by a tally of 14-6 in the frame to send the teams into the halftime break knotted up 21-21.
  • Eichenberger, Priyanca Sundher and Jocelyn Orr all scored in the third quarter but the Vikes took the lead just seconds into the quarter and held it throughout the rest of the frame as they led 33-28 heading into the final ten minutes of play.
  • UVic quickly jumped out to an 11-point lead to start the fourth quarter. Kovacevic responded with six points in the frame and TRU made it just a four-point game with two minutes left to play but that was as close as they would come. UVic was able to hold on for the three point victory.
