Chad Jacobson

Chad Jacobson became the fifth U SPORTS head coach in program history on April 1, 2023.

Jacobson comes to the 'Pack from the University of Saskatchewan where he has served as lead assistant coach of the Huskies since 2015. Alongside his eight years of experience as a full-time assistant, Jacobson took the reins of the Huskies as acting head coach from March – June of 2022. During his time as acting head coach he led Saskatchewan on a remarkable playoff run that included a Canada West bronze medal and U SPORTS silver medal finish. 

Prior to taking the lead assistant role with the Huskies, Jacobson was also an assistant coach with the program for two years. During his nine seasons in Saskatchewan, Jacobson and the Huskies qualified for the Canada West postseason seven times, earning 101 conference victories over that time frame and qualifying for the U SPORTS National Championship tournament three times.
 
Jacobson also brings experience coaching at the professional level, having served as both head and assistant coach of the Saskatchewan Rattlers in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
 
Prior to joining the Huskies, Jacobson served as head coach at Neelin High School in his hometown of Brandon, MB and also spent a season as an assistant coach with the Brandon University Bobcats.
