The Thompson Rivers Univesity WolfPack men’s volley ball team has put together a bit of a winning streak as it comes into the final stages of its 2010 Canada West pre-season. The WolfPack went into Vernon on Wednesday (Oct 6) and downed the UBCO Heat of the BC College Athletic Association in three straight sets.
The scores were 25-16, 25-20,25-23.

The WolfPack played many of their youngsters. Rookie outside hitter Jesse Bazergui (White Rock, BC) had a good match recording nine kills and two blocks.
Head coach Pat Hennelly had praise for his rookies—who will most likely spend a good portion of this Canada West season on the bench. “They all played well,” he said. “ I was particularly impressed with the play of Colin Carson (2
nd year, setter, Prince George, BC). Carson played for Canada’s Junior National team this past summer.

Other first year WolfPack seeing the floor in this match included Casey Knight (Middle, Salt Spring Island, BC), Jason Fennema( Right Side Houston, BC) and Stuart Richey (Outside Hitter, Gibsons, BC).
The WolfPack travel to Abbotsford BC on Thursday (Oct 7) to begin a two match exhibition series with the Trinity Western Spartans. Their final pre-season match up is Octobe 22
nd at the Tournament Capital Center against UBCO. They kick off their season November 7 th at Trinity Western. TRU’s home opener for the regular season is Friday November 12 th against the University of Manitoba Bison.
